In France, birds in the French countryside are disappearing at a staggering rate, dropping 38% between 1989 and 2018.

To reverse this trend, agricultural practices and urban planning must be changed.

Municipalities and inter-municipalities are therefore involved in the "Territoires engagés pour la nature" programme, which aims to bring about the emergence, recognition and promotion of action plans in favour of biodiversity.

Networks are being organised, such as the "Agrifaune" network, which brings together stakeholders from the agricultural and hunting worlds and contributes to the development of agricultural practices that reconcile economics, agronomy, the environment and wildlife.

And citizens are getting involved in participatory programmes such as Vigie Nature to contribute to research and the improvement of knowledge by observing biodiversity on a daily basis.
