STUDY : Grazing pressure influences the diet of common alpine birds

The French Biodiversity Agency (OFB), the Ecole Pratique des Hautes Etudes (EPHE), the Pyrenees and Mercantour National Parks, and their partners have published a study on the diet of common birds in the mountains. Using an innovative method, it characterizes the different diets of insectivorous birds according to the intensity of grazing on the sites they occupy.

Major international trafficking in live animals of protected species dismantled

The French biodiversity Agency (OFB) and the Bordeaux branch of the Central Office for the Fight against Environmental and Public Health Violations (OCLAESP) have dismantled a major international traffic in live animals of protected species. After months of investigation, four arrests were made on French territory, including a woman suspected of being the head of the trafficking network. Servals, parrots, monkeys, meerkats, squirrels... these species bought at low prices abroad were then resold via social networks, all over France.

The OFB is participating in the COP 19 CITES from 14 to 25 November 2022 in Panama City

The French biodiversity Agency (OFB) will be present this year at the COP 19 CITES as part of the French delegation. In collaboration with the French Ministry of Ecological Transition in charge of implementing CITES control, the OFB brings its expertise and technical knowledge in monitoring the various activities governed by the CITES Convention.
